Technique: Crosshatching

So, I said I was going to give art techniques, but I haven't yet! Sorry about that. Well, I'm going to now! And today I will be talking about crosshatching!

I'm not like, a professional and coloring or filling or anything, but I do know a bit about crosshatching. Crosshatching is a way of shading/filling in your drawing using hatches. I just decided it would be helpful for you guys to know about it. Hatching is filling in with lines; crosshatching is filling your drawing with two sets of lines drawn the opposite direction from each other. Here, I made you guys a diagram :)

I hope that makes it more clear! When you feel like your coloring strokes are too random, you should try coloring like this, but of course, more finer, so the crosses and intersections aren't all too obvious. :-) But not to the point that it loses its texture!

I'm sorry I didn't get to explain this more, but I'll talk more about this later and perhaps update this post or make a part 2. See you all!
